What Kind Of Skills Do I Need?
Experience of working with children is certainly an asset but not essential. However, a love for children, plenty of patience and understanding, enthusiasm and a desire to improve your children’s prospects by learning English is perhaps more important.
You will be a native or near native speaker of English language.
You will be teaching in a classroom environment, which may involve formal teaching, conversation class, singing songs and playing games. You will also involve the native Brazilian teacher in these activities which will help in improving their language skills.
What a native Brazilian teacher said about our Teaching English Program.
¨The Volunteer Brazil Program is very important for me in two aspects; professional and personal. On the first one the volunteers help me to motivate the students to learn the English language and when they leave the students keep their interest. Talking about the personal aspect, the program gives me the opportunity to develop my fluency and improve my pronunciation, learn new cultures and make friends around the world, as well.¨ Eligivania Macedo - Teacher at Centro Ensino Experimental Ginasio
